Microsoft Set to Launch Mobile Game Store in July

Microsoft announced it will launch its own store for mobile games in July. This store will let people buy and play games on their phones.

Sarah Bond, who leads Xbox at Microsoft, said they will begin by offering games like Candy Crush and Minecraft. Later on, they will add games from other companies too.

The special thing about Microsoft’s store is that it will start on the internet instead of being an app. This means people can access it on any device without needing to download anything.

The reason for doing this is to give people an alternative to Apple and Google’s app stores. These stores charge a lot of money to game makers, but Microsoft’s store will have lower fees.

This news comes after Microsoft talked about making a mobile game store for a while. Last year, Phil Spencer, who leads gaming at Microsoft, mentioned they were thinking about it.

Microsoft’s interest in mobile gaming grew when they bought Activision Blizzard. They wanted to make a place for mobile games from Activision and other companies.

While laws in Europe are making Apple and Google change their app stores, Microsoft wants to offer something different in the U.S. and other places. They want to give people more choices when it comes to buying and playing games on their phones.
